Featured Dog!!!
We will be working with Chesapeake Humane Society and other local organizations to put a new dog in the spotlight every few weeks. These dogs and these organizations need your help. Your donations and volunteer time can help the organizations, or if you have the room in your heart and home, you can give a dog their forever home. They just need a place and a family to call their own. Check back every so often as we update this page.
Angel is a very sweet 3 yr. old female American Pit-bull Terrier. She is spayed, micro-chipped, and current on vaccinations. She weighs approximately 65 lbs. and thinks that she is a lap dog. She is crate trained, house trained, and knows sit, down, stay, and her left and right. She loves all different sizes of people but is picky about her doggy friends. When she wants to go out or wants something, she sings. She has a very good voice. She was abandoned by her irresponsible owner in June 2008 along with her 10 one week old puppies. My name is Honeybear and I’m a real teddy bear! I’m a 3 yr old male, neutered and current on my vaccines. Although I’m a big boy, I think I’m a lap dog and will try to sit on your lap when you sit down. I’m considered “Special” by everyone who meets me because I’m deaf and such a sweetheart. I’m scheduled to go to classes to learn some basic commands in sign language so I know that will help me. I would love a home to call my own with a fenced in back yard. Hi there! I’m ‘Cookie’ and I am as sweet as one too. I do have a bit of a mind of my own but learn quickly so I aim to please once I know what I’m supposed to do. I’m already spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and my heartworms have been treated thanks to Chesapeake Humane Society. I can go home today and recuperate at your house! Sampson is a 17 month old male black Fila Brasilerio or Brazilian Mastiff. He is house broken and crate trained. Sampson enjoys being inside with his family. Sampson is good with children, cats and dogs. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and heartworm negative. Sampson walks well on a leash and enjoys being outside for short periods of time. He needs a home that will show him lots of love. He does get attached rather quickly and likes to follow you around the house. He is a great model citizen for his breed and needs a home that knows Mastiffs or is willing to learn what it means to own a Mastiff.
